This is a documentation page for the theme Simples.

Installation #

Updating #

Please read our support page on how to update a WordPress theme.

Before updating, we recommended do a backup of the site.
You might want to check the changelog page.

If you edited the main theme files (simples), you will lose the changes.

You don’t need to update the child theme (simples-child), we don’t do updates on it, unless it is really necessary and in these case we will always mention it on the changelog.

The Simples theme uses WordPress Sticky Posts to featured posts.
To learn how Sticky Posts works, please read our support page where we explained how to do it.

Edit posts style #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Post Style.

Edit featured style #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Featured Posts.

Edit social links #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Social Links.

Go to Appearance / Widgets.

Full width post #

When you are creating or editing a post, choose Full Width Article model on Post Attributes section.

You might want to choose an image on Featured Image section, and set the option to show it on the post page, so it appears on the top of the page.

Full width page #

When you are creating or editing a page, choose Full Width Page model on Page Attributes section.

You might want to choose an image on Featured Image section, so it appears on the top of the page.

Advertisement #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Advertisement.
To add advertisement on Sidebar, go to Appearance / Widgets, and add the Custom HTML or Image widget to the sidebar and edit it as you wish.

Setup Instagram #

Install and activate the plugin Instagram Feed.
A tutorial about the plugin (portuguese only).

Go on WordPress panel at Appearance / Widgets and add the widget Custom HTML on Instagram Sidebar, and add this code:

[instagram-feed num=4 cols=2 showheader=false showbutton=false showfollow=false]

Go to Pages / Add new and create a page with the template Instagram.
Go to Appearance / Menus / Create a new menu and create a new meu with the links you want to, and select Instagram page menu on Menu Settings.

Go to Appearance / Menus.
On Menu Settings select a display location for the menu you are editing.

Edit post and sidebar width #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Site Width.

Edit fonts #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Fonts.

Go to Appearance / Customize / Site Identity.

Edit colors #

Go to Appearance / Customize / Colors.

Child Theme #

If you decide to edit the code of the theme, we recommend that you make use of a Child Theme.
Just download the Child Theme, install it the same way you installed the main theme, and than change it as you wish.
